The redesign in context

During my time at DaapApp, from April 2024 to October 2025, I owned the end-to-end design of the app’s core experiences. The wider redesign covered several areas; this case study focuses on two decisions: communicating account sign-in and making bank-card registration more directly accessible.

The problem and goal

Heatmaps, numerical data, and drop-off points highlighted users not signing in or registering a bank card. In the previous experience, the signed-out state was unclear. A user could reach payment before discovering that sign-in was required.

Adding a card was located in Profile and Cards. Some users applying for a loan had trouble finding it. There was also a business need: progressing the loan feature required accurate figures for users with a registered card to be supplied to Bank Mellat, which was investing in the feature.

My role and collaboration

I carried out research, analyzed behavior and product data, designed the UX/UI, and documented the process. I recorded requirements in a PRD and worked with the technical team to explain the designs, hand them over, and support implementation.

Sign-in guidance before payment

At the start of the app experience, I introduced a one-time sign-in prompt and kept the option to skip it. If someone remained signed out, the header showed that state and an invitation to sign in.

Sign-in was still optional, but the need for it was no longer communicated only at the end of the journey.

Card registration within reach

For users who had not registered a bank card, I placed an Add bank card action on Home. It provided a direct route to registration and reduced reliance on finding the option inside Profile.

Implementation and outcome

Part of the wider redesign was implemented according to the employer’s priorities. The selected designs in this case study were implemented and released.

After the card-registration action was added to Home, support no longer reported related complaints about difficulty finding the section to me. This was qualitative feedback. Changes in card-registration rate, sign-in rate, and payment completion are not documented for this narrative.
